The ever-changing face of Simon Cowell: Top surgeon reveals what he thought the music king really did as he turns 65

A top surgeon weighed in. After Simon Cowell turns 65 on Monday, his face is changing.

In recent years, Simon's appearance has become as much of a talking point as his hit TV shows – with fans commenting on his radical transformation.

In 2019, Simon admitted to having a '21st century face lift' and 'overwhelming. Botox' before her 60th birthday.

She gave herself a major makeover and said the process 'hurt like hell' as she revealed the other ways she turned around before dialing it back.

As Simon turns 65, Professor Ullas Raghavan, renowned cosmetic surgeon at Pall Mall Medical, gives his insight into Simon's age-defying look.

In the 1980s, Cowell was a far cry from the polished, suited TV mogul he is recognized as today.

Working behind the scenes in the music industry, she had youthful, natural looks, a full face, unstyled hair and her own teeth.

In the early 2000s, when Pop Idol and American Idol shot him to fame, his style sharpened.

Simon is known for his casual wardrobe of black T-shirts and jeans, but his face still shows signs of natural aging, with subtle lines and a delicate jawline.

Fast forward to the 2010s and her appearance began to change dramatically. Simon's face is very sculpted, with full cheeks and a smooth forehead.

The change sparked a wave of speculation about the cosmetic interventions she may have undergone.

Professor Raghavan suggests that Simon may have opted for a number of procedures to maintain his youthful appearance.

“From what we've seen over the years, Simon may have received Botox injections to soften the wrinkles on his forehead and around his eyes,” Professor Raghavan told MailOnline.

'Fuller cheeks may suggest dermal fillers to restore volume that naturally diminishes with age. This will give her face a youthful, plump look, resisting the natural hollowing that occurs over time.

Professor Raghavan speculates that the Britain's Got Talent judge may have undergone additional cosmetic procedures to enhance her appearance.

'He may have had a facelift, tightening the sagging skin around his jawline to give him a more defined and sculpted look. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a face and neck lift and a brow lift to open up his eyes and give him a more refreshed and alert look.

A blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) may have helped rejuvenate the area around her eyes and remove excess skin or fat from the upper or lower eyelids. This will smooth out any swelling or sagging and further contribute to the youthful transformation we've seen in Simon over the years.'

'When facial needles are overused, they can reduce mobility and create a stiff appearance, especially around the eyes and mouth,' said Professor Raghavan.

Pictures taken over the years show that Simon started getting Botox injections in 2009.

In 2019, Simon admitted to having a facelift – but wouldn't say when, and said the procedure 'hurt like hell'.

She told The Sun that she went to cosmetic surgeon Dr Jean-Louis Sebac, known as the 'Picasso of dermatology', for a silhouette soft lift.

She underwent a non-surgical 'suture bioplastic infused thread' facelift which set her back £2,000.

Simon explained: 'For me now, it's all about clean skin. If you have clear skin, you will be fine. But you must be very careful about these things.'

'There are so many things you can do now. You don't have to stuff your face with fillers and botox. It hurts like hell, but it gets rid of sun damage and cuts all the cr*p off.

In 2019, Simon lost 20-pounds after adopting a vegan diet and adopting a healthy lifestyle. As his physique slimmed down, his face became a talking point among fans: 'What happened to your face?'

'When facial needles are overused, they can reduce mobility and create a 'stiff' appearance, particularly around the eyes and mouth, something we have noticed with Simon in recent years,' says Professor Raghavan.

Simon once claimed that using Botox 'added 10 years' to his TV career, but says he regrets going through with the procedure.

She said: 'I hope I'm fine now – I had a bit too much Botox a few years ago because everyone on TV has it.

'Now I have a facial, but nothing fancy at the moment. I have a lady come here and give me a good face massage – it's so relaxing. I put on a sheep placenta face once and it was out.

Now, as he enters his mid-60s, Simons' face has taken on a more natural, even more youthful appearance.

Professor Raghavan speculates that Simon could maintain his appearance with more subtle, conventional non-invasive treatments such as laser skin resurfacing and skin tightening procedures.

He seems to have found a balance that “he still addresses the signs of aging, but doesn't overdo it.”

'As Simon Cowell marks his milestone 65th birthday, his transformation over the years reflects not only the pressures of being young in the entertainment industry, but also the fine line between improvisation and excess.'

MailOnline has contacted Simon's representatives for comment.
