The Best Weapons for Necromancers in Last Epoch

The Acolyte class in Last Epoch specializes in an assortment of dark and forbidden magics. After reaching the End of Time, players using this class are able to choose between three Masteries. These Masteries are Necromancer (Specializing in Summoning and Exploiting Minions), Lich (Which specializes in draining life and essence to strengthen itself), and Warlock (Specializing in curses and damage over time to cripple their enemies.)

Players who choose the Necromancer Mastery in Last Epoch gain access to powerful minions and several ways to strengthen and exploit them. With an assortment of Skeletal Warriors, Mages, and Bone Golems, alongside a few more ghostly allies, the Necromancer can unleash a tide of undead upon their foes. They can also detonate their minions for burst damage or forcibly merge them into a hulking abomination mid-battle. Picking a good weapon can make a Necromancer Build even more effective, so here’s a breakdown of what types to look for and what stats to prioritize.

Necromancer Weapons: Minion Damage

A necromancer surrounded by minions in Last Epoch

When selecting weapons for a Necromancer it’s important to grab gear that will boost minion damage. The Skeletons created by Summon Skeleton, the Wraiths, and the Bone Golem, specialize in Physical Damage by default. So does the Abomination created by Assemble Abomination. Meanwhile, the Skeletal Mages and Dread Shade focus on Necrotic Damage by default. Depending on the skill nodes unlocked, Minions might gain an additional damage type, or replace their original damage type.

When picking a weapon for a Necromancer, players should search for boosts to their main minion damage types. Here’s a list of minions and the damage-boosting affixes that are relevant to them (assuming their damage type hasn’t been modified by a skill node) as an example of what to look for:

Minion Type

Affixes

Assemble Abomination

As you can see from the table above, the majority of the Necromancer’s minions default to physical damage. With the right skill nodes, many of them can add either fire or necrotic damage to their repertoire. They also tend to have nodes that offer access to bleed and poison effects.

Necromancer Weapon Types

Last Epoch_Reach of the Grave_Wand

When selecting a weapon for a Necromancer, two weapon types stand out: Wands and Scepters. Wands reduce the Mana Cost of Spells and provide Spell Damage, making them excellent for use alongside skills like Rip Blood and Wandering Spirits. Scepters offer a mix of melee and spell damage, which can be useful when using skills like Harvest. A specific subtype of Scepter, called “Skeletal Sceptre,” has an implicit Minion Damage boost. This makes Skeletal Sceptres an excellent choice for nearly all Necromancer builds.

Players could also farm the Unique Wand “Reach of the Grave,” which comes with boosts to minion spell damage, bow damage, bow attack speed, cast speed, and a health leeching effect to keep them alive longer. In the offhand, players should find a Catalyst that boosts their preferred damage type and/or their minion’s damage.
