There has been plenty of news to keep on top of recently if you’re a Helldivers 2 fan, not just that new enemies have been leaked! Update 01.000.100 was released, with massive weapon nerfs and buffs. That caused a community backlash which needed addressing by the Arrowhead devs.
That was followed up by silenced guns, teleportation, and new suit leaks popping up across socials. And the leaks didn’t stop there! Apparently, the Terminids and the Automatons won’t be the only faction you need to worry about, with new Helldivers 2 enemies leaked!
Are The Illuminate incoming in Helldivers 2?
In a now-deleted post on Reddit, models were leaked for The Illuminate and also for flying bugs. Luckily, before the post was deleted, those images were saved, with wowvendor.com presenting the terrifying new enemies you could be facing.

As this is a leak, we have to take it with a pinch of salt. However, it does seem likely that The Illuminate will return in Helldivers 2. We’ve already seen the leaks for mechs arriving in-game confirmed.
Add to the model leak that characters in-game mention The Illuminate and lights in the sky have appeared for some players, such as u/ImDaBooii – implying Illuminate contact – and we could be in for a new battle!
For those not familiar with who The Illuminate are, they were a faction in the first Helldivers game. A race of psionic aliens who are also known as the Squ’ith. They have mastered psychic and telepathic abilities, using a neural network to traverse space.
They previously fought with nano-tech and electric weapons, with great barriers and protective technology coupled with projectiles. We can’t be sure that The Illuminate will make their way into Helldivers 2, or if their technology will be the same. What we do know, is that if this faction is introduced, you will need to be ready for a challenge!
