Spanish developer Crema, known for the popular Pokemon-like game Temtem, just announced a new game in the franchise, Temtem: Swarm.
Temtem: Swarm mixes the popular creatures from Temtem with the top-down gameplay made popular by games like Vampire Survivors.
The game will be released for PC via Steam in Q3 2024.
An interesting element of Temtem: Swarm is that it can be played solo or in co-op with up to three players. Players can strategize, share resources, and help each other to take down not only the swarm of Tems coming at them but also increasingly powerful bosses and minibosses.
You can also time your attacks creating synergies between the Tems, which will be especially relevant during boss fights against powerful enemies like Gharunder, Yowlar, and Nessla.
The gameplay also includes devastating attacks, defensive abilities, and power-ups that complete the Survivors-style experience.
Of course, you can earn XP by defeating the horses, which will let you level up your Tem and unlock its evolutions all the way to the final one. You can also capture and collect Tems (obviously) to use yourself, and each has its unique combination of traits and ultimate attacks.
Interestingly, the co-op feature includes sa Ghost mode that lets you support your friends until they can revive you, so you don’t have to wait idly after you’ve been KOd.
If you’re unfamiliar with TemTem, it’s an MMO originally released in early access in 2020 following a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2018 that received over half a million dollars in pledges from over 11,000 backers.
The game was then fully launched in 2022 and it is currently available for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. At the moment, we don’t know whether TemTem: Swarm will follow its predecessor’s route and land on consoles as well at some point in the future.
