The latest Tekken 8 gameplay trailer has been revealed, and this one’s all about the cold-blooded Spetsnaz operative Sergei Dragunov.
He’s a man of very few words, so Steve Fox probably wouldn’t describe him as the victor of any competition that involves “talking the most”.
Dragunov’s first opponent in his trailer is Raven, against whom we get to see the White Reaper use his efficient yet graceful Commando Sambo martial arts style.
Once Bandai Namco deems that Raven has taken enough punishment, he’s swapped out for the French agent Victor Chevalier, who seems to have a past with Dragunov.
Unfortunately, that bad blood doesn’t seem to fire Victor up enough, because Dragunov proceeds to wipe the floor with the man, culminating in a particularly brutal Rage Art that sees Dragunov shattering Chevalier like ice.
At the conclusion of the trailer, we see Dragunov notice the camera that’s tracking him, just as he does at the beginning of the trailer. He’s such a skilled operative that he can break the fourth wall, apparently.
Dragunov’s reveal comes after trailers that have unveiled characters like the aforementioned Steve, as well as Leo, Reina, and Azucena, in the last few months.
They join a roster that also contains fan favorites like Ling Xiaoyu, Marshall Law, and King, suggesting that Tekken 8 is going to be a very packed fighting game indeed.
Set to launch in just under two months, Tekken 8 will also supposedly feature a single-player mode akin to the classic Tekken Force gameplay style, as well as the return of the rather goofy Tekken Ball mode.
We’ll find out exactly what’s coming to Tekken 8 when the game launches for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on January 25th. Stay tuned for more news about all things Tekken 8.
