The MW3 beta period is still in its early days, yet the long-awaited pre-released phase has seen no shortage of cheaters desperate to get cheap wins over casual players. Fortunately, CoD’s Ricochet anti-cheat team has now issued a chilling warning to these cheaters, with the number of in-game hackers steadily rising to an all-time high this early on.

In a post made through the Call of Duty Updates X account ahead of the Modern Warfare 3 release date, Activision said: “Team Ricochet will be ready for the MW3 launch with a new suite of detections and protections set to go live on launch day, November 10.” “Team Ricochet actioned against a small number of accounts for cheating during MP beta weekend one,” they continued. “For weekend two, the team will be actively monitoring the beta and will enforce permanent bans against any account detected to be cheating across all platforms.”

Based on these statements from the MW3 team, it appears those caught cheating during the opening phase of the MW3 beta have already been handed severe punishments. On the other hand, those captured during the follow-up beta period will get even worse sanctions, as a permanent ban is in store for anyone who gets seen using exploits. It’s currently unclear what measures Team Ricochet has put in place, but it’s safe to say that this should at least deter cheaters from ruining games for casual players.
