Tales of Arise enjoyed solid critical reception upon its release a couple of years ago, and the action RPG has continued to sell well in the time since then. At last count, as of April last year, the game had sold over 2 million copies worldwide, and now, Bandai Namco has provided another update on its sales figures.

In a recent interview with Japanese outlet 4Gamer, series producer Yusuke Tomizawa revealed that Tales of Arise has now sold over 2.7 million units worldwide, which he calls “unprecedented” for the Tales franchise.

“There were a large number of new players and players who had not played the game for a long time, and we were able to sell more than 2.7 million copies worldwide, an unprecedented number for a standalone Tales title,” Tomizawa said.

In our review of Tales of Arise, we awarded it a score of 8/10, saying, “Tales of Arise is a well-made, consistently enjoyable JRPG, and though its storytelling tends to be sloppy, its gorgeous world and excellent combat are more than enough to keep you hooked until the end.” Read the full review through here.

Bandai Namco recently also released an expansion for Tales of Arise, titled Beyond the Dawn. The expansion and base game are both available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
