It has been hyped for a while but now it is finally here, the new Dancing in the Tempest season has arrived in Monster Hunter Now. Kicking off a banner summer for the game, it is time to strap on your boots and face the greatest threat yet, as the Elder Dragons are here ready for a fight.
If you have managed to climb to the ranks of Hunter Rank 11 and up, well done, you are quite the master. Now, it’s time to get an ego check as the Elder Dragon Interceptions will give you a run for your money. Test yourself against behemoths like the Kushala Daora, Khezu, and Basarios.
These will take part in specific locations at scheduled times throughout the day and close 25 minutes after joining. They will start showing up at 07:15 local time and will cease at 22:40, a window that should suit people of any schedule. 20 minutes before an Interception starts, specific gathering points will turn into interception points. From there, simply approach the point, join the hunt, and pray to whatever deity you follow that the Elder Dragon shows you mercy.
Should all the stars align and you manage to slay one of these foes through your screams, you will receive Basic Rewards, which sounds like such a letdown. Don’t worry if you only reduced their health a bit, you will still grab some Repel Awards. As always, you will get more items for breaking parts.
After a successful Interception you will need to wait for a set time before entering another one, or if you failed, you can immediately try again. Of course, Now is one of those types of games, so if you simply need to take down a dragon right away, you can purchase the Ultra Hunting Tickets to bypass the cooldown. If you must.
We can’t talk about the big summer updates without mentioning the newest weapon soon to come; the Gunlance. This beast of a weapon packs a massive shield for defence and hosts explosive shells that could decimate foes at close range. The biggest drawback in the main series was these blasts ate through sharpness like nobody’s business, but seeing how that isn’t an issue in Now, this could be quite the powerhouse.
