Welcome back to Waifu Wednesday, Niche Gamer’s column where we talk about characters, their appeal, and a little on their history.
Today’s waifu is Takanashi Hoshino from Blue Archive!
Hoshino is one of the first students we meet in the main story of Blue Archive since she’s the head of the Foreclosure Task Force, a club in Abydos dedicated to paying off the school’s debt.
After most of the school’s students left for economic reasons, Hoshino is the sole remaining third-year student in the school (in fact, the Foreclosure Task Force are the only students left in Abydos at all).
Hoshino’s past is shrouded in mystery, in her previous years at Abydos she was considered one of the most terrifying soldiers in all of Kivotos. But something changed in the last two years that completely changed her personality. The Hoshino of today is sleepy and aloof, though she’s a stalwart ally with her shotgun she’d much rather be napping.
Hoshino has endeared herself to fans with her unique way of talking. To appear more affable, she frequently talks like an old uncle and even refers to herself as “this ojisan”. Fans can expect more of Hoshino in the game as the upcoming chapter on JP servers will involve her and her history with Hina from Gehenna Academy.
