Aliens and buff cats. It’s not The Battle Cats shockingly, it’s KinnikuNeko: SUPER MUSCLE CAT! This bizarre game has some of the best character designs (in my opinion) of any recent indie release. Who would disagree when the protagonist of this story is a beefy, chiselled, muscular human with a cutesy cat head? The MC blueprint has been seen before in the likes of Fortnite with their Meowscles skin. However, KinnikuNeko: SUPER MUSCLE CAT looks more unnerving and could probably benchpress Meowscles.
Are You Feline Fierce?
This colourful alien invasion game puts you and your abs at the front of the fight. Aliens have infiltrated Earth and begun plucking all of human civilisation into their ships. All except for the muscle cat and his two friends, who aid on your adventure through the now desolate Earth as you uncover answers in a plot filled with humour and shenanigans.
I’ve already mentioned the character designs briefly, but all around this 2D action platformer has such a fun style to match the gameplay. Enriched and crammed with colour, this upcoming game title is very reminiscent of traditional anime-esque games. See for yourself and check out the game trailer below.

KinnikuNeko: SUPER MUSCLE CAT hasn’t released just yet but you can get a head start and wishlist it over on Steam, or check out more game details if we haven’t convinced you just yet. Did I mention that peeling off KinnikuNeko’s underwear is what turns him back into a regular feline friend? Hah, typical anime tropes and their underwear humour.
