There’s been another big leak for a Switch game in which the ROM has appeared online before launch, and now it’s Super Mario Bros. Wonder that’s affected.
Reports recently started to surface that some retailers have started to sell it early. Because of that, fans are starting to gain early access and someone went as far as to dump the whole thing online.
Because of the leak, spoilers may follow. Mario side-scrollers aren’t exactly rich in story, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re looking to experience the game relatively blind.
For those interested in behind-the-scenes development, OatmealDome found out from the Super Mario Bros. Wonder ROM leak that the game uses the the ModuleSystem engine. That same tech is behind The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Splatoon 3.
A few other high-profile Switch leaks have happened this year. The biggest of the bunch was Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, with the ROM leaking a week before launch (not to mention the collector’s edition art book that appeared online way back in February). Fire Emblem Engage and Pikmin 4 saw their own leaks before release as well.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder will officially launch for Switch on October 20, 2023.
