Strictly's Nick Knowles has been dealt a heavy blow in a new update on his future on the show, as it has yet to be confirmed whether he will be able to continue acting.

If Nick Knowles gets the green light to take the floor on Saturday, he will reportedly have no choice but to perform the dance that injured him in the first place.

The DIY SOS star, 62, will find out tomorrow whether he can dance again or instead quit the BBC Good Competition following an injury that forced him out of Movie Week.

While things are looking good as Nick revealed yesterday that he's back training, the contestant has been dealt a new blow.

Insiders have revealed that Nick will be dancing the Charleston – a style known for twisting steps and leg flicks – a routine he learned for film week and no time to rehearse a new one.

A source told The Mirror: 'Today will be rehearsed on Friday and the final decision will be made on Saturday evening. He was going to try the routine he had already learned for film week.

The DIY SOS star, 62, will find out tomorrow if she can dance again or if she'll be kicked out of the BBC competition instead.

'It's unfortunate that it's a Charleston because it's very difficult to do without a lot of knee-jerk action, but there's no alternative. Everyone is keeping their fingers crossed for him.'

MailOnline has contacted Nick Knowles and Strictly Come Dancing representatives for comment.

The Charleston features long leg action, including the famous knackered knees and feet flying in the air.

If all goes well and Nick is cleared to dance, he will perform Rain on the Roof from Paddington 2 with his pro partner Luba Mushtuck.

It's definitely on Wednesday about Nick's future after he revealed a major health update.

She shared an update with fans on her Instagram account as she made an appearance with Luba that takes two.

In an Instagram video, she told fans: 'So I'm behind the scenes at It Takes Two and the good news today is that the physios have cleared me for training tomorrow.

'All that is still not clear for Saturday. We will have to wait and see how I am tomorrow and then decide on Friday.

It comes after Nick revealed a major health update on his Strictly future on Wednesday

In an Instagram video, he told fans: 'So I'm behind the scenes at It Takes Two and the good news today is that the physios have cleared me for training tomorrow.'

'So we'll update you as we go. But I would like to take this moment to thank everyone for all the good wishes and encouragement I have received. And I hope to dance on Saturday.'

Later, interviewed by Janet Manrara during the BBC dancing competition's spin-off show It Takes Two, Nick elaborated on what happened on Friday.

She explained: 'We had a great week learning the dance and we were doing camera tech rehearsals where the cameras see how the dance works and everything.

'At the last step of the dance I was late in getting to where I should go, and jumped to the point where one of my legs was immovable and the rest went over.

'There was a bit of a slump and I realized it wasn't in good shape. Basically I injured my knee.

On the bright side, she added: 'Every day gets a little better. Friday was pretty bad to be honest. Saturday didn't look so good but I had a scan so we decided to wait until Monday so we could see.

'Monday was a bit strong, I saw the physios today and I've had help from all the rehab and physios and doctors and they've given me permission to try dancing tomorrow for training.

Interviewed by Janet Manrara during the BBC dance competition's spin-off show It Takes Two, Nick detailed what happened on Friday.

'If I train tomorrow it's not necessarily the end. We'll see how I do tomorrow, that's all I can say for now.'

According to BBC rules, couples can only miss one week due to injury, after which they must withdraw from the competition.

Nick also revealed he was 'freaked out' as he missed out on Strictly last week as he watched Saturday night's show on crutches.

She wrote on X: 'Can't be out on the dance floor with everyone tonight, but still fit and cheering them on from the couch!'

The announcement will be made on Wednesday before the next live show, following fan concerns over his absence from this week's song and dance line-up.

At the top of the show, hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman were given a free pass to the next round of the competition as he and his partner Luba Mushtuk gave viewers a fresh look at the situation.

Des said: 'As you can see, Nick Knowles and his partner Luba are not here. In rehearsal, Nick is injured and can't perform tonight.

Claudia added: 'According to the rules of the competition, he will get a bye on next week's show.'

Claudia sent her love to Nick on behalf of the entire team and wished him a speedy recovery, which was met with applause.

Nick also flooded his social media with congratulations. Fans are rushing to send messages for his speedy recovery.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6:20pm on BBC One.
