Former Capcom artist and Street Fighter II creator Satoru Yamashita has launched a crowdfunding campaign for Dhalman, his new action-adventure game focused on letting the spice flow.
Dhalman is being developed with Yamashita at the helm and providing the main artwork, under developer Minnapad. The new Kickstarter campaign is now live and is seeking $600,000 to finish development on the game.
“Dhalman came from my travel experiences and watching travel videos on YouTube,” Satoru Yamashita said. “I’m currently keen on India, with its friendly people, cows walking on the streets, loud noises, ancient ruins, and vibrant dances. I thought it would be great to capture the intense aspects of India in visuals.”
Minnapad CEO Tatsuya Nishioka added, “We saw how excited people got for other Kickstarters for spiritual successors to 90s classics, like Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and Eiyuden, so we wanted to create our own throwback to Capcom’s illustrious back catalog and Satoru Yamashita was interested in revisiting this kind of colorful, family friendly gaming that inspired us so much growing up. We also got Mega Man composer Akari Kaida to work on the soundtrack, ensuring that Dhalman will feel like a long lost classic!”

Enter the immersive world of Dhalman, a groundbreaking action-adventure game crafted by the legendary Satoru Yamashita. Set in a richly detailed parallel reality, Dhalman invites players to embark on a thrilling journey where skill, strategy, and storytelling collide.
Dhalman is a unique combination of a retro-styled “Metroidvania” and a restaurant simulator. Dhalman will travel around the world, looking for rare spices, while also participating in a variety of street fights. As Dhalman finds new spices, he’ll gain new abillities, as well as improve the status of his family’s curry shop.
