Stardew Valley ($4.99) game creator Eric Barone (ConcernedApe) has been posting about the upcoming major Stardew Valley 1.6 update on Twitter with reveals for new features, content, and more. Over the weekend, Eric Tweeted that a ton of progress has been made on Stardew Valley 1.6, with the reveal of the Big Chest that can store almost twice as much as the regular one. This is something many including myself have wanted in-game for a long time. Eric also has been responding to questions about why Stardew Valley keeps getting updated long after fulfilling all promises. Eric responded saying it will never be perfect but he wants to keep improving it as it is his life’s work so far, and he cares about it a lot.
A ton of progress on 1.6 last month, it’s (self-imposed) extreme crunch mode, nose to the grindstone (raw nose) mode. Heres’ one of the many additions in 1.6. Keeping mostly everything secret pic.twitter.com/cFT3Nks8z0

If you’ve not followed the game in a while, the upcoming Stardew Valley 1.6 update is planned to bring in 8 player multiplayer for PC, two mini festivals, new late-game content, winter outfits for all villagers, a new reward type for billboard requests, 100+ new lines of dialogue, and a lot more. If you haven’t tried Stardew Valley yet, read our original review. We even featured it as our Game of the Week. You can buy it on the App Store for iOS here and for Android here on Google Play. If you own a Nintendo Switch and an iOS device, I compared both versions of the game to help you find the best platform to play it on. Here’s our forum thread on the game for more discussion. Do you play it on mobile through its standalone premium release or Apple Arcade regularly?
