Developer Cloud Imperium Games has announced that its sci-fi space-based game Star Citizen will be available to play for free for almost two weeks as part of the Intergalactic Aerospace Expo 2953. As part of the event, players can sign up for an account on the game’s official website and simply download the title and play.

Through this promotion, Star Citizen will be playable starting on November 17. The free access will be available until the end of the month on November 30.

The studio will also be unveiling more ships coming to the game during the Intergalactic Aerospace Expo 2953; for those that may not know, the year 2953 is the current year in the setting of Star Citizen, as time in the game’s setting progresses alongside the real world.

Each day of the event will be dedicated to a single spaceship manufacturer in the Star Citizen setting, and new ships will be showcased on each day. The event will culminate on November 26 with a Best in Show for weapons and armor showcase, followed by a 3-day finale from November 27 to November 30.

The single-player component of Star Citizen, dubbed Squadron 42, is reportedly now feature complete, according to the studio. Neither Star Citizen nor Squadron 42 have release dates as of yet.
