Last month, HandyGames announced that it was bringing Purple Lamp’s SpongeBob SquarePants – The Cosmic Shake ($9.99) to iOS and Android as a premium release. SpongeBob SquarePants – The Cosmic Shake debuted on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC as a new 3D platformer, and it eventually got current generation ports on PS5 and Xbox Series X. It is considered a spiritual successor to the excellent SpongeBob SquarePants – The Battle for Bikini Bottom. Read Shaun’s Switch review of SpongeBob SquarePants – The Cosmic Shake here. I skipped it to potentially play it on mobile or grab it on PS5. It is out now on mobile, and is excellent so far. I’ve played it for about an hour trying out the various graphics options and such on my iPhone 15 Pro. You can watch the SpongeBob SquarePants – The Cosmic Shake mobile trailer below:
On iPhone 15 Pro, it has a 120fps option which I toggled on, and also an FOV slider. I haven’t done a ton of testing, and I’ll wait for MrMacRight on YouTube for a full analysis, but SpongeBob SquarePants – The Cosmic Shake feels great so far on iPhone 15 Pro with touch controls. I’ll likely be reviewing this and playing it on iPad Pro (2020) as well. Check out the graphics settings menu below:
Check out the 120fps support option below:
Once you finish the initial download on iOS, you need to download about 4.1GB within the game for the full experience so keep that in mind. SpongeBob SquarePants – The Cosmic Shake is available for $39.99 on consoles and PC. The iOS version is priced at $9.99. You can buy SpongeBob SquarePants – The Cosmic Shake on the App Store for iOS here for $9.99 and pre-register for it on Google Play for Android here. It isn’t up on Android yet, but will go live in a few hours as usual. I am curious to see how SpongeBob SquarePants – The Cosmic Shake on mobile compares with the Steam Deck version. Did you play SpongeBob SquarePants – The Cosmic Shake on any other platform or will you be playing it on mobile today?
