
Sony is shutting down PixelOpus, the studio introduced on its Twitter account Friday.
“Pricey pals, our PixelOpus journey has come to an finish,” the studio stated. “As we glance to new futures, we needed to say a heartfelt thanks to the thousands and thousands of passionate gamers who’ve supported us, and our mission to make lovely, imaginative video games with coronary heart.”
The San Mateo-based PixelOpus arrived on the scene at E3 2014, with the shock announcement and launch of its first recreation, Entwined for the PS4.
The studio’s second and ultimate recreation was 2019’s Concrete Genie, a couple of bullied younger boy who discovers the flexibility to convey his work to life. The sport was nominated for 2 DICE Awards and two BAFTAs.
“PlayStation Studios repeatedly evaluates its portfolio and the standing of studio initiatives to make sure they meet the group’s brief and long-term strategic aims,” a PlayStation consultant instructed IGN.
“As a part of a current evaluation course of, it has been determined that PixelOpus will shut on June 2.”
