Announced earlier this year, Sonic X Shadow Generations is part of Sega’s grand plan to turn 2024 into the year of Shadow (December’s Keanu Reeves-starring Sonic the Hedgehog 3 being another part of it), thanks to its new Shadow the Hedgehog campaign, and the company may soon be announcing when exactly the expanded remaster will be coming out.
Officially scheduled to launch sometime this fall, as per prominent leaker billbil-kun in a Dealabs report, Sonic X Shadow Generations is set to launch on October 25. As per the leaker, that is what the plan was until at least March earlier this year, so there’s a chance that plans have shifted around to some degree since then.
Either way, as per billbil-kun, with the game having received worldwide certifications in recent weeks, a release date for the platformer will be announced within the next 10 days, in line with recent leaks. Presumably, that means we expect an announcement either at Summer Game Fest or at the Xbox Games Showcase- unless Sega has other plans.
Whenever it launches, Sonic X Shadow Generations will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
