Sonia's tips for the perfect fake tan:

Moisturize and exfoliate

'Keep your skin hydrated by moisturizing daily. Pay special attention to dry areas like elbows, knees and ankles.

'Before applying your tan, exfoliate your skin to remove dead cells, which helps the tan stay even and last longer.'

Do not rub

'After showering, pat your skin dry with a towel instead of rubbing, this will fade the tan more evenly.'

Choose carefully

'Invest in a high-quality self-tanner that suits your skin type and tone.

Invest in a facial tanning mist and apply every few days to maintain your complexion.'

Protect yourself

'Continue to use sunscreen daily as UV rays are harmful even in winter!'
