Some Harry Potter Fans May Be Able to Get New Game at Huge 50% Discount

The LEGO Harry Potter Collection remaster has been released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, and owners of the original collection will receive a 50% discount. LEGO Harry Potter‘s first game Years 1-4 was released in June 2010, followed by the Years 5-7 sequel in January 2012, and both games received several ports for mobile devices and modern consoles during their longevity.

In addition to the beloved live-action movie franchise, the Harry Potter IP has delivered a host of video games, including EA’s portion of titles based on the films and Avalanche Software’s highly successful Hogwarts Legacy. The 2023 action-RPG offered a vast and immersive plunge into the Hogwarts experience, jostling with original friends, foes, and harrowing missions, and the scope of Hogwarts Legacy 2 is expected to follow suit.

The LEGO Harry Potter Collection remaster was announced for current-gen consoles back in September, and players who digitally own the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions can purchase the remastered release for half the price. Steam users who previously purchased both Years 1-4 and Years 5-7 will also be given a half-price discount, and those who own one or the other on PC will receive a 25% discount. The game’s full price is $39.99, but owners of the older version can upgrade to the remastered collection for only $19.99 or $29.99 on PC to reap the rewards of the enhanced version. However, these discounts are limited-time offers, scheduled to end on November 6 at 11:59 PM local time on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S and 10 am PST / 1 PM EST on Steam.

Redditors swarmed the LEGO gaming subreddit to voice their opinion on the upgrade, declaring remasters should be free for owners of the original game. However, hardcore fans had no problem paying more for a truly stellar game in their eyes. The Harry Potter games are considered some of the best LEGO co-op titles on the market, and the remaster for current-gen consoles will open the fun, blocky gameplay to a wider audience with native 4K resolution, 60 FPS, haptic feedback, and improved textures.

The LEGO Harry Potter Collection combines Years 1-4 and Years 5-7 into one magical experience and is remastered by Double Eleven.
