Kamala Harris is being mocked online after debuting a bizarre new “accent.” Stephen Colbertevening performance.
Harris continued her friendly media attack with a hit on the CBS hit The Late Show, in which she lectured hurricane victims and had a beer with the liberal host.
There was a social media uproar when she mentioned a “fake Jamaican accent” when discussing the importance of empathy.
“Don't you have empathy, man? NO. For other people's suffering. Do you have no sense of purpose? she stated.
The furious online backlash began almost immediately when the vice president became angry for speaking with a “Jamaican accent” similar to Bob Marley.
“Wake up baby, Kamala Harris' new accent just dropped,” conservative commentator Savanah Hernandez wrote on X.

Another added: “Holy smokes Kamala just threw a Jamaican accent on Stephen Colbert.”
“Obsessed with Jamaican Kamala,” wrote user X, Jebra Faushay, sharing a meme of Harris wearing Bob Marley's signature hat over thick dreadlocks.
This is not the first time Harris has revealed a “fake accent” in recent weeks during the election campaign.
Critics said the presidential candidate used an accent last month when he addressed the teachers union during a “Swing State” campaign rally in Michigan.
“Kamala's new accent just dropped,” one X user wrote in response to a video of Harris speaking to a high school teachers union in Detroit, Michigan.
In her remarks, social media users say Harris adopted an urban accent to connect with the working-class crowd.
“You may not be a union member, but you better thank a union member for a five-day work week,” Harris said, in a tone unusual to the one she uses in her usual speeches.
She continued: “You better thank the union member for the sick leave. You better thank your union official for your paid leave. Better thank your union member for the vacation.
“I'm from California. We all say it,” user X wrote sarcastically, including the phonetic spelling of Harris in her remarks: “I'll make sure to thank my union members today.”
At another point, one of the contestants shouted something about her future beyond the 2024 elections.
Harris, still using his new accent, responded with a big smile and laugh before leaning over the podium and saying, “Let's just get through the next 64 days.”
“Kamala's new accent just dropped,” one user wrote on X.
Harris was in Detroit on Labor Day, speaking to union members in the Northwestern High School gym about unions' contributions to the workforce.
The vice president is half Jamaican, half Indian. The Trump campaign accused her of using her blackness to her advantage when it suited her and pointed to the fact that when she became a U.S. senator in 2017, she touted her Indian-American heritage.
During a hostile interview with the National Association of Black Journalists in Chicago last month, Trump also said Harris only began “promoting” her blackness when she ran for president.
“I didn't know she was black until a few years ago when she accidentally became black and now she wants to be called black,” he said at the annual convention. – So I don't know if she's Indian or black?
Discovery Institute journalist Jonathan Choe noted on X (previously on Twitter) that this was a code switch Harris used to better connect with the largely black and urban audience listening to her remarks on Monday.
This is not the first time Harris has revealed a “fake accent” in recent weeks during the election campaign.
“Kamala Harris code-switches again as she speaks with new accent at Detroit rally,” he wrote.
The latest criticism comes after Harris was also mocked in July for faking a Southern accent during a campaign rally in Atlanta, Georgia.
“You all helped us win in 2020 and we will do it again in 2024.” Harris told voters in her fake Southern accent.
Harris often slips into a Southern accent when speaking to voters in Southern communities. The vice president grew up in San Francisco, California and spent high school in Montreal, Canada.
She faced similar criticism during the 2020 campaign when she prolonged her vowels during an evening in Florida when she said, “We'll tell them we hung out in the parking lot with Kamala and all our friends that Saturday afternoon.”
Outkick writer Ian Miller wrote about the latest use of the accent: “At some point, Kamala will speak in England and adopt a full British accent and everyone will pretend it's completely normal.”
“BREAKING: Kamala Harris Discovers New Urban Accent in Detroit,” pro-MAGA account End Wokeness wrote.
“This is self-flattering,” wrote another. “Kamala uses her new 'accent' when speaking to a specific demographic.”
