Snacko, a life simulation game that looks like Stardew Valley, has arrived in Early Access on PC. The game seems to be almost release quality, but the developer wants to test some things and get it ready for other platforms. Console players will be able to play at full release, which was announced as 2024.
The Early Access period is to give the developers the time and resources needed to polish the game, add more content and features, and implement feedback from the community. According to the news post announcing all of this, the game is complete, but this version gives them what they need to add a bit more.
If you pay for the Early Access version of Snacko, you can play through the main story, explore the world, farm, build, craft, and even romance other animals. This is one of the first legitimate Early Access games I’ve seen because it’s the whole game, just early. The developer did not lie when saying this was just is for improving the game.
As with most Early Access games, players should expect tweaks to game balance and pacing, improved controller and accessibility support, bug fixes and optimization, and other new content. Some mentioned were additional craftables, deeper post-relationship interactions, and more world activities and events.
Localization and porting to consoles will also be happening behind the scenes, so you won’t need to worry about it affecting the game.
