“Where the hell is the Silent Hill 2 remake?” is a question many of us have asked in recent months, with updates on the survival horror title having dried up entirely since its announcement a year ago. It seems, however, that Konami and developer Bloober Team may be planning another look at the game in the near future.

At least that’s what recent activity on the game’s Steam page seems to suggest. As per SteamDB, Silent Hill 2 has received a bevy of updates over the last few weeks, and while that in and of itself isn’t necessarily evidence of much, the nature of the updates could be.

Updates include added support for tags, several languages, and Achievements. That could potentially be suggesting that the game’s Steam page is being readied with new information, which in turn could be aligned with an upcoming showing.

Over the last year, developer Bloober Team has said multiple times that the Silent Hill 2 remake’s development is in the final stretch, leading many to believe that its release might not be too far away. Whether Konami is planning on announcing a concrete release date soon remains to be seen.

Silent Hill fans do have something to look forward to in the near future either way, with interactive streaming series Silent Hill: Ascension set to launch on Halloween.
