Silent Hill fans have grown increasingly anxious about Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill 2, with its announcement over a year ago having been the last time it was shown off. The developer has, however, issued a statement to assuage any concerns about how the psychological horror title’s development might be going.

In a message published on Twitter, Bloober Team said that it’s “diligently working to ensure the Silent Hill 2 remake attains the highest quality”, and that development on the game is progressing well, and as per schedule. The developer also went on to reiterate that new details on the game and when it will launch will be shared by Konami.

“On behalf of our development team, we would like to clarify that the production is progressing smoothly and in accordance with our schedule,” Bloober Team wrote. “We understand that many players around the world are eagerly anticipating news about the game, and we appreciate your dedication.

“However, we kindly ask for a bit of patience. Once Konami, as the game’s publisher, shares more information, we are confident that the wait will be worthwhile.”

Earlier this month, a pre-order listing for Silent Hill 2 claimed that the remake would include a new playable origin story for Pyramid Head, though Konami later stated that that was “incorrect information”.

Silent Hill 2 is in development for PS5 and PC.
