Back in October 2022, Konami and Bloober Team announced the remake of Silent Hill 2, but since then, fans haven’t heard much about the fate of the beloved game.
Today, Bloober Team broke the silence by posting a message to the fans on its X (formerly Twitter) account.
The message reassures the fanbase that development is progressing smoothly and according to the studio’s plans, but asks for patience, promising that when Konami shares more information, it’ll be worth the wait.
You can read the full message below.
As Bloober Team, we are proud to be a part of Konami’s plans for the Silent Hill franchise. Alongside our partner, we are diligently working to ensure the Silent Hill 2 remake attains the highest quality.
On behalf of our development team, we would like to clarify that the production is progressing smoothly and in accordance with our schedule. We understand that many players around the world are eagerly anticipating news about the game, and we appreciate your dedication.
However, we kindly ask for a bit more patience. Once Konami, as the game’s publisher, shares more information, we are confident that the wait will be worthwhile.
Thank you for your understanding and support!
At the moment, it’s hard to say when Konami will reveal more about Silent Hills 2. It’s likely that Bloober Team felt the need to share this message to remind fans that the publisher is responsible for sharing more details and pick the timing for further pèromotion. As the developers, they likely cannot independently do so.
The game was announced on October 19, 2022, during a livestream in which we also got the announcement of other games and projects dedicated to the franchise, like Silent Hill: Ascension and Return to Silent Hill.
For the moment, we know that Silent Hill 2 is coming to PS5 and PC (If you so wish, you can pre-order the PS5 version on Amazon). In the meanwhile, Bloober Team has also struck a deal to create a new Survival horror IP for Take-Two’s Private Division label.
