Earlier this year, FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco announced Shadow of the Erdtree, a large-scale expansion for acclaimed 2022 open world action RPG Elden Ring, and though updates on it have been next to non-existence since its announcement, development seems to be going well behind the scenes.

That’s as per Kadokawa Corporation, FromSoftware’s parent company, which provided a brief update on the current state of the expansion in its recent quarterly fiscal report, writing, “The release timing of DLC for Elden Ring has not yet been announced, but development is proceeding smoothly.”

The company reiterated the same in a Q&A session with investors, where it denied to provide an update on when the DLC might release. “We are currently working hard on the development of DLC for Elden Ring but we have not announced a release date at this time,” the company said (via VGC).

Earlier this year, Kadokawa Corporation also suggested that Shadow of the Erdtree – which has reportedly been in the works since April last year – would only be launching after the end of the current fiscal year (i.e. April 2024 onwards).

In related news, FromSoftware is currently also looking to recruit in a number of positions to work on “several new projects”- read more on that through here.

Elden Ring is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It has sold 20.5 million units worldwide as of March 31.
