For those playing Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, here’s how to complete the Security Code side quest without backtracking.
After clearing Chapter 6, a particularly troublesome side quest becomes available at the Trouble Center. Normally, you’d have to backtrack to several major areas of the game, but we’ve streamlined this process so you don’t have to to any of them.
How to complete the Security Code quest
As mentioned earlier, you’ll unlock the Security Code quest in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door after you clear Chapter 6 and hold the Crystal Star up in front of the Thousand-Year Door. After accepting the quest from the Trouble Center, you will have to go to Glitzville either by riding the blimp in west Rogueport or using the newly-added pipe room. The businessman needs to remember the security code to his case, and he made the code based on the number of chairs in several houses he visited. Normally, you’d have to go to Koops’ house in Petalburg, Flurrie’s house in Boggly Woods, Don Pianta’s office in Rogueport, and then Toodles’ house in Poshley Heights. The code you would have gathered from the number of chairs in those houses is 2625. You will have to answer each number individually.
You also get Hot Sauce in return for giving the businessman the security code, which can be used in battle or in certain cooking recipes. After completing the quest, you can come back to purchase more Hot Sauce anytime you want.
