It is also revealed that Breslin's business partner, Clark (Vincent D'Onofrio), is in cahoots with Hobbes and wants Ray imprisoned in the Tomb, which is ultimately revealed to be a prison ship. The first Escape Plan movie ends with Breslin and Rottmeyer executing their plan, and after many shootings and hits, they escape in a rescue helicopter. Ray then actually learns Rottmeyer Is Mannheimwith the latter's daughter, Jessica (Caitríona Balfe), who had previously trained as a CIA agent to bring Ray into the Tomb to save her father.

While this isn't much of a challenge, Ray is shocked to learn that Rottmeyer was a benevolent Mannheim all along. Mannheim's thefts have made him many enemies who will do anything to stop him. Once imprisoned, Ray's main task is to find out exactly where the Tomb is. Ray is shocked to learn that the prison is located on a huge shipwhich naturally makes escape difficult. Either way, he puts on the hat and, during the finale, tricks Hobbes into believing that he will stage a riot in a specific prison block. The guard sends most of his security team to the area, but Ray and Rottmeyer stage a riot in the main area while only a handful of guards are on duty.
Breslin's actual escape plan is quite simple, improvised, and out of step with the supposed brilliant escape artist.
From there it's a desperate race to the top of the ship to get to the helicopter in time. On the way Breslin finds time to kill brutal guard Drake (Vinnie Jones) before blowing up Hobbes too. Admittedly, Breslin's actual escape plan is quite tech-driven, improvisation-based, and out of character for a supposedly brilliant escape artist. His initial escape is way more inventive and unique, and yet it feels like he just threw it in there Escape planfinal.

The tomb was built as a way to “disappear“some troublesome people without due process. Hobbes and his staff may also torture high-value prisoners for information, as is the case with Rottmeyer, where the warden and Clark were hired by banks around the world to find Mannheim before his next heist. Escape plan supermax prison is a for-profit operation run by mysterious sponsors – who remain mysterious until the end credits roll.

The group is later revealed to be the operators of the HADES prison Escape plan 2. It seems they also have a personal vendetta against Breslin, possibly due to Ray's escape from the Tomb. Escape plan 2 “Cliffhanger” heavily hinted that Ray would be going after this dark cabal in the third film, but Escape plan: Extractors completely ignored this configuration when he arrived the following year.

Escape plan the characters go from reluctant allies to buddies, and Ray later talks about his reasons for taking such a strange job. It turns out that in his previous life he was a prosecutor, he had a wife and a child, but his family was later attacked and murdered by the convict Raywho promised Breslin he would take revenge.

Breslin hires more trustworthy people in the Escape Plan sequels
Clark is a business partner of Ray who is lured by the CIA offering double Breslin's regular rate to test the Tomb. About halfway through Escape plan reveals that Clark not only works for the people behind the Tomb, but also wants Ray to be kept there permanently to prove that prison really is inevitable. There is no motivation behind Clark's actions other than greed, and he is very well paid to betray his partner by Tomb's supporters.

Breaking away from the formula, Ray and his team must break through down a prison called “Devil's Station” where Abby and other hostages were rescued.
Third Escape plan ends on a gloomy note; one sec the remaining hostages are released, Abigail is murdered, and Ray viciously beats Clark Jr. before slitting his throat. Ray planned to retire after this, and with no new films planned, he kept his word.
