Developer First Watch Games announced they removed in-game player content from Rogue Company featuring former Twitch streamer Dr Disrespect.
The in-game skins featuring Dr Disrespect and the level designed by the streamer, whose real name is Guy Beahm, have both been removed from the game in its first big update since 2023.
“Hey Rogue Company, we have disabled Dr Disrespect content previously available on game. We will provide full Rogue Buck refunds to any impacted account this week,” the developers said. The developer said the players will get the refunds from July 8 to July 14.
The content cut from Rogue Company is the latest partner to cut ties with Beahm after a wave of allegations of sexual impropriety to the streamer, where he eventually admitted to sending sexual messages to a minor.
While the developer is offering refunds for the content, it was criticized by players due to the refunds being in-game currency instead of monetary refunds – especially considering the Dr Disrespect skin cost $20 by itself.
In a Reddit post, user RESCOBAR1997 (also providing the above image as screenshot) slammed the developers for offering the players Rogue Bucks instead of monetary refunds, saying that their payment for the skin should be paid back in its original payment.
Rogue Company’s playerbase has declined to about 350 to 400, as noted by Steamcharts. The lack of updates may have contributed to the player exodus from the game. The game has been free-to-play on PC (via Steam), Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PS4.
Multiple other companies and studios have also cut ties to Dr Disrespect, for example, a supposed cameo in NBA 2k24, headset maker Turtle Beach, and the studio he co-founded, Midnight Company.
