The Grand Theft Auto series is one of the most popular and infamous series in gaming. This includes the most recent game and Grand Theft Auto Online, which offers unique benefits to players who subscribe to the GTA+ service. Rockstar has just announced that it will begin giving out classic versions of older Grand Theft Auto games, with The Trilogy coming first.

While critics and players pretty much panned the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy remaster, those who subscribe will be able to start playing it at no additional price. Rockstar announced via Tweet, implying that more free versions of older titles could be coming soon. For now, players will just need to be satisfied with the Trilogy.

The Trilogy collection includes Grand Theft Auto III, San Andreas, and Vice City. All of these were considered important titles and sold well at the time due to their take on humor and the open-world genre. It’s a faithful recreation of the characters and world, but it very much plays like games that were made for generations of consoles ago.

It’s unclear whether Rockstar plans to release new remastered versions or just standard ports of its older games, but more will become clear with time.
