Robert Lindsay has revealed that he finds it difficult to admit that his Hollywood friends have Botox.
Starring in new Channel 4 drama series Generation Z alongside Sue Johnston, 80, and Anita Dobson, 75, the trio insisted they never wanted to change the clock with a bit of plastic surgery.
Speaking to Radio Times this week, Lindsey said: 'I'm back from Los Angeles. I worked there in the '80s and ran into some old friends, none of whom I recognize. I'm serious. “I was completely shocked.”
Sue Johnston agreed, saying: “I think it's sad, don't you?”
'I'm very proud of the three of us. We have let ourselves go, we have our wrinkles and, I tell you, we are aging in a very embarrassing way.

“I was talking to an agent yesterday who says he gets a lot of requests from casting directors and they don't want anyone who hasn't done any work,” Dobson said.
'If they were playing characters like Sue and I was playing them, they'd say, 'Oh no, I've already had all the Botox, I've had my chin and nose done, I don't want to cover them up.' . .'
The new series is about a quiet, sleepy town that is quickly struck by disaster when a military convoy overturns in front of a guardhouse, causing a chemical spill with some deadly consequences.
A group of teenagers become infected with the virus when one of the gang's grandmothers becomes infected and attacks her.

He shares his daughter Sydney, 36, with actress Diane Weston, who has become an actress.
The My Family actor, who plays Morgan, said he took the job because his children liked the script.

He continued: 'My children responded much better to the script than I did at first because they were so affected by Covid times, their A levels and coming to university. It was very difficult for them.
'They had me make a body part (I had missing parts and a cut in my stomach) for a specific sequence.
'After filming, the producers called me and asked me if I wanted it or if they were going to throw it away. I said, “Why not?” I said.
It was presented in a box, which my wife and young son opened, probably thinking it was a bottle of champagne or something. I heard screams from those below.
