Capcom has announced that the Resident Evil 4 Remake Separate Ways DLC will be released on September 21, 2023, for all platforms. This announcement was included as part of the developer’s RE4 VR showcase during the September 2023 PlayStation State of Play.

Hardcore fans of the zombie horror series should be familiar with this expansion’s story by now, as it will primarily focus on the enigmatic Ada Wong as she navigates through the background of Resident Evil 4’s main story. Naturally, with the base game presenting plenty of changes from the original, we can likely expect a few updates to be introduced with the revamped DLC as well, though the nature of these improvements is yet to be determined.

The short teaser also included a cameo from none other than the sinister antagonist, Albert Wesker. Though his appearance in the clip was only fleeting, he could be heard instructing Ada to “find Lewis” and fetch the Amber, referring to the crystallized parasite that’s responsible for the plague that’s spread throughout the game’s setting.

Naturally, most of the locations you’ll see within the DLC will be ones that you’ve likely explored as part of the base game. However, some of the encounters will predictably be different, as one scene in the video depicts Ada facing off against the Giant Troll by her lonesome. It’s currently unclear, though, what some of the other battles will look like as you make your way through the story.

Alongside the release of the Separate Ways DLC, a free update for the game’s Mercenaries mode will also be launched, meaning you’ll be able to play as either Ada or Wesker in the supplementary offering.
