Remedy Entertainment announced that it’s at work on updates for its survival horror game Alan Wake 2.
The reveal comes from communications director Thomas Puha on X (formerly Twitter), who mentioned that not only is the developer hard at work on “a few” updates for their critically acclaimed and recently released labor of love, but the first is coming soon.
If all goes according to the developer’s hope, the patch will be released within 12 hours.
Puha also mentions that this first patch will be small and will fix the issue with the echo not working in the hotel lobby of mission “Room 665.” It will also include a partial fix for the audio cutting in the prologue on Xbox. A full fix will come in a future update.
He did not provide further details on what he meant by the fix being “partial.” We’ll have to wait for the release of the patch to know more, and we’ll update this article for your perusal when it is made available hopefully in a few hours.
Alan Wake 2 was launched only a few days ago (on October 27) for PC exclusively via Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
If you’d like to read more about the game, you can check out our review that awarded the game a 7 out of 10 mostly due to progression-breaking bugs, performance issues, and the audio problem mentioned above.
That being said, our Jason Rodriguez also defined Alan Wake 2 as “one of the best survival horror games we’ve ever played,” praising the story, the performance of the cast, the investigative gameplay, the meaningful collectibles, and more.
You can also listen to the developers at Remedy discuss one of the game’s heroes (Alan Wake himself) and the Dark Place in a pre-release video.
