He is one of the most versatile Swiss forwards, capable of playing in any position and valuable to every team in the league. Now, Thierry Bader may no longer be working under Yossi Tapora in Bern. After the season, he will transfer to ZSC Lions for three years.
The list of players leaving FC Bern is getting longer and longer: giants like Patrick Nemeth and Austin Czarnik. A Swiss like Philipp Wittrich who could play a key role. Other valuable players like Yanick Sablatnig. Now it's Thierry Bader (27). He will move to ZSC Lions for three years until 2028.
Bader was the most efficient SCB player in last spring's playoff quarterfinals against Zug. Also more productive than foreigners. Seven games, five points, and 16 minutes and 38 seconds of playing time is the second-longest of any Bern forward with a Swiss license. Bader made the World Championship squad but was not selected when he won silver in Prague.
question? Versatility
However, he hasn't gotten the respect he deserves from coach Yossi Tapora this season. His ice time was reduced to less than 15 minutes. So it's only logical that Bader has only contributed four assists in 27 games so far.

What's the problem? The son of Austria national team coach Roger Bader is so versatile. So it's actually pretty good. He is smart, agile and strong.
In his brightest moments, his shooting ability even reminded us of Julian Sprenger in Gautron's youth. Suffice it to say, he is now Tabora's offensive fireman. He was used wherever needed: left wing, right wing, center. There were few power plays and many in the paint. With his shooting skills, he'll be a prime option on a ton of power plays.
30 points potential
He is taking the “Offensive Travel Award” by storm this season, joining Simon Moser, Yannick Sablanig, Fabian Ritzmann, Marc Marchon Valtteri Mare La, Austin Czarnick, Dominik Kahun, Victor Essel and Alan Graf were tied. If Thierry Bader wants to get better, he needs a coach to assign him an important position rather than constantly having him fill other functions and other tasks on the ice.

In a well-rehearsed lineup, he's a 30-point guy. In this context, it's worth mentioning that he was allowed to play in all seven playoff games against Zug last spring, along with Canadian center Colton Skver.
At the age of 27, the former Kloten teenager faced a big career decision. In this case, this can only mean: leave Bern. Thierry Bader decided against the Bills and picked the ZSC Lions.
