With the new year nearly upon us, one of the biggest games to look forward to is also a title long in development. Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy: Relink was announced in August 2016 as Project Re:Link and is finally launching in February 2024. In case of any doubt, Cygames’ Yasuyuki Kaji revealed that development is “finally complete.”
Speaking to Famitsu on “Ambitions for 2024” (translation via DeepL), Kaji said, “Thanks to everyone’s support, I was able to finally complete Granblue Fantasy: Relink, which has been in development for a long time. I hope that as many players as possible check it out.” He also confirms “starting work on a new title” next year.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink launches on February 1st, 2024, for PS4, PS5 and PC. Aside from the main story, with 19 playable characters, there’s also Quest Mode. The latter includes over 100 quests with support for up to four players in co-op and features endgame content.
To help provide a better idea of what to expect, a free demo launches next month for PS4 and PS5, providing a look at Story Mode, Quest Mode and the Tutorial. A showcase is also set for January 11th, showcasing a walkthrough and multiplayer quest gameplay, so perhaps the demo goes live on the same day.
