Norman, a 28-year-old product of Sebastian, Fla., who was inked to a one-year deal, missed last season with what was called a “significant medical episode” on June 14, when he collapsed during a walkthrough and was revived by trainers before being rushed to hospital.
He was eventually cleared to practice, but remained on the six-game injured list as a precaution.
Norman started in 15 games for the Lions in 2022 and 13 in 2019.
Also putting his signature on a one-year deal in Ottawa was American linebacker Silas Stewart, who has spent the past three seasons with the Calgary Stampeders.
The 28-year-old native of New Castle, Del., played in just five games last season, recording 11 tackles.
In 2022 Stewart suited up for all 18 of the team’s games, registering 55 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble.
