Reanimal, announced at the Opening Night Live Gamescom 2024

Little Nightmares’ authors have announced a new terrifying surreal horror that will keep us glued to our controllers.

One of the main and most anticipated announcements of this year’s Gamescom’s Opening Night Live was indeed Reanimal, a dark, disturbing, surely unpredictable game.

As previously announced during the THQ Nordic Showcase, the creators of Little Nightmares presented, right during this important occasion, Reanimal, the new game from Tarsier Studios.

Here’s what to expect

This title retains the fairytale-like yet dark and gloomy characteristics of the studio’s previous games, with new terrifying characters. In this case, players will embody two orphaned siblings, happening to be as traumatized as brave, who must escape the darkness on a creepy island.

Not only will the children need to save themselves, but they’ll also have to search for their lost friends using only their wits, while facing monsters inspired by their past. Every location we visit on the island will have a story to tell us.

To avoid facing this hell alone, the Swedish studio has implemented local and online co-op modes in Reanimal, allowing us to tackle this gruesome adventure together with our friends. The puzzles and the overall gameplay can also be tackled through split-screen: will cooperation be the key to success?

Grew up with my dad’s Nintendo Game Boy. Became passionate about psychology, but with a geeky twist. I’m always looking to learn new things, additional languages, and to better understand what’s happening inside our little brain cells.
