It’s that time of the year again, and Ubisoft is preparing to reveal the last season of Year 8 for its popular tactical FPS Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. Today, we get to meet its operator.
The new season is totles “Operation Deep Freeze” and Tubarão hails from Brazil. His gadget is a grenade that can (as the title of the season indicates) freeze enemies in place, obviously used for crowd control. It promises to “control the pace of battle.”
At the moment, details are scarce, but we get an animated trailer in which Tubarão infiltrates Deimos’s secret base to try and rescue a group of hostages while working with Thunderbird.
We already know that the full reveal for the season will come tomorrow, November 12, at 11:00 a.m. PST, 2:00 p.m. EST, 7:00 p.m. GMT, or 8:00 p.m. CET, depending on where you live.
When the reveal comes, we’ll get a deep dive into Tubarão’s loadout and gadget, on top of whatever changes the new season will be.
While this is the last season of year 8, Operation Deep Freeze certainly won’t be the last overall. We know that the folks at Ubisoft are already preparing for the “next 10 years” for the game, and given its continued success, that’s really not surprising.
We can expect to hear an in-depth overview of the four seasons of year 9 sometime over the next few months. If Ubisoft’s modus operandi is an indication, it’s likely that we’ll also learn the nationalities of the next four operators.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is currently available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
If you’d like to learn more about the current season, “Operation Heavy Mettle“, which is still active before Operation Deep Freeze starts, you can enjoy its reveal, including another animated trailer focusing on its operator, Ram.
