The new year is kicking off with a bang. While January is getting the likes of Tekken 8 and Yakuza Infinite Wealth, February is also stacked with some hugely-anticipated releases. And, in addition to AAA games to buy, Sony is giving away a day-one launch as part of their PlayStation subscription service next month. Here you will find the PS Plus February 2024 games reveal date along with the games leaving, possible leaks for Premium, and what’s already confirmed as an Essential giveaway.

As mentioned, next month is very exciting for gamers. You can get Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League early access before February even arrives, but the upcoming games 2024 release schedule for next month is full of bangers such as Persona 3 Reload and the very long-awaited Skull and Bones from Ubisoft.

All of the new releases coming out next month are awfully exciting, but so too are the additions to PS Plus in February 2024. Sony has already confirmed one of the games joining on day one, and we might also know one of the Premium classics.

PS Plus February 2024 games reveal date

The PS Plus February 2024 Essential games should be revealed on January 31st. The next batch of Essential offerings is always revealed on the final Wednesday of the current month and one week before the release date for the next Essential freebies. The PlayStation blog post for January 2024 confirms that the next Essential selection will be released on February 6th.

As for Extra and Premium, they should be announced on February 14th. Sony typically announces the Extra and Premium additions on Wednesday one week after the release of the Essentials. This can be seen in January when the Essential offerings came out on January 2nd, with the upper tier additions announced on January 10th.

Before the second month of the new year begins, make sure to claim the current Essential offerings before they expire. The Essential giveaways right now are Evil West, Nobody Saves The World, and A Plague Tale Requiem.

Confirmed PS Plus February 2024 games

Foamstars is confirmed as one of the PS Plus February 2024 Essential games. It will be part of the Essentials selection that typically includes three giveaways. There’s currently no word on the identities of the other two freebies.

If you’re unsure what Foamstars is all about, it’s basically Square Enix’s version of Nintendo’s Splatoon. Only instead of paint you shoot other players with foam in chaotic multiplayer action. It looks a lot of fun, and it will be supported post-launch through seasonal content.

You will need to claim Foamstars before March 5th, 2024 to get it for free. If you do not claim before the expiry date, you will need to pay £24.99.

Games leaving PS Plus in February 2024

Below are all of the games leaving PS Plus Extra during February 2024:

  • Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown
  • Hue
  • I Am Setsuna
  • Lost Sphear
  • Lost Words: Beyond the Page
  • Oninaki
  • Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
  • Tacoma
  • Tekken 7
  • Thomas Was Alone

Make sure to play all of the above before they depart. The release time for Tekken 8 is imminent, so the departure of Tekken 7 makes sense. Resident Evil 7 is one of the best horror games available to buy, meanwhile, Ace Combat 7 is lots of fun.

PlayStation Premium leak

A possible PS Plus Premium classic leak is Alone In The Dark The New Nightmare. This is a PS1 game that was accidentally included by PlayStation UK and PlayStation Access when revealing the Extra and Premium additions for January. Both accounts quickly removed their original posts to no longer include Alone In The Dark, but its inclusion means it’s possible it could be joining Premium at a later date.

It could possibly join in February or it could be added sometime later in the year. Joining next month would be perfect as the Alone In The Dark remake is pegged for March following delays. It would also be a fine addition as survival horror games are some of the best titles belonging to the PS1, and there’s really nowhere near enough of them part of PlayStation’s most expensive tier.

In other PlayStation news, the first State of Play for 2024 is reportedly coming soon to combat Microsoft’s recent Xbox Developer Direct that showcased the Indiana Jones game.
