Pokemon Scarlet and Violet leaks have revealed that the Mythical Pokemon Pecharunt will debut in a future event. After traveling to Kitakami in the first Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, the new DLC Indigo Disk takes players back to Unova. The Indigo Disk concludes the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero story and gives players the chance to catch new Pokemon.

In Indigo Disk, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players travel to Unova as transfer students to the Blueberry Academy. Even though The Indigo Disk wraps up The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, there is still more Pokemon Scarlet and Violet content on the way. Recent leaks have shed light on some of this content, bringing new information to players.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC Feature Can Ruin Shiny Hunting

A new feature introduced in The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can ruin shiny hunting, as confirmed by one unfortunate player.

Data miners Centro Leaks have revealed that Pecharunt will debut in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet via an event. There is an item in the game files called Mythical Pecha Berry that will be distributed to players in the future, which when used triggers a special event in Kitakami. Centro Leaks reports that music and text data for the event are already in-game, and that there will be appearances by Nemona, Arven, Penny, and the previously leaked zombie NPCs.

Meanwhile, data miner mattyoukhana shared a video showing Pecharunt’s new signature move, Malignant Chain, which they indicate is connected to Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti. They also gave more details about the event that will lead to finding and catching the Gen 9 Mythical Pokemon. According to them, interacting with the Pecharunt decoration at Peachy’s in Possui Town with the Mythical Pecha Berry will trigger the event “The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Epilogue: Mochi Mayhem.” Not much is known yet about the event’s plot, apart from characters being controlled via mochi. The leaker said that Pecharunt will not possess Kieran, which was a popular theory of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players.

The arrival of Pecharunt in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is good news for players. Until now, Gen 9 had been the only one not to introduce a Mythical Pokemon, and now it seems to be backtracking in what would be the breaking of a tradition in the Pokemon franchise. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can only wait for new details on the event in the coming months and more information about Pecharunt.
