PlayStation players of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will have several unique features that are not available on other platforms. This includes adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, 3D audio, and Exclusive content. PlayStation revealed all of this in their recent blog post.
According to the post, PlayStation 5 will be introducing some interesting new features to Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Players will be able to feel the tension of their Na’vi bow string when aiming, the recoil of their human weapon when firing, and the feedback from wildlife as they pet and soothe it.
PlayStation 5 players will be able to experience the sounds of Pandora in 3D, with almost every sound in the environment being 3D-positioned. This will create a more immersive and realistic experience. To top it all off, PlayStation players will receive the Aranahe Warrior Pack for free, which includes exclusive character and weapon cosmetic sets.
These cosmetic sets will allow players to customize their Na’vi characters and weapons with unique designs. PlayStation has definitely gone out of its way to make sure that their version of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora at least has some exclusivity.
We think this may have a lot to do with Microsoft having bought out Activision-Blizzard, arguably one of the biggest publishers in the Gaming Industry. This has left PlayStation at a place where they need to play catch up. Getting exclusive skins and new features like those mentioned above is a good way to do it.
While Avatar was a great movie, its sequel has not been doing so well. Added to that is the fact that gamers aren’t generally really excited about the Avatar series. If this game does take off, then this will be the smartest move they could make. However, if this is just another movie tie-in game, it doesn’t seem like a great way to spend the money.
