PlayStation announces September State of Play, focusing on indie and third-party games

PlayStation has announced a new State of Play event taking place on September 14, 2023 that will focus on showcasing several indie and third-party games. Alas, this means that those looking forward to more sneak peeks for upcoming first-party AAA entries like Spider-Man 2 will have to wait for more details in the future.

According to a brief blog post from PlayStation director Shawne Benson, the live stream will begin at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 10 PM BST, and most of the games that will be shown include “indie and PS VR2 highlights,” as well as major upcoming titles from their third-party partners. You’ll be able to tune in to the show through PlayStation’s official YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok accounts, so make sure to bookmark these pages ahead of time.

Though details on the games that you can expect to see throughout the course of the show remain scarce, some of the teasers you can expect will likely revolve around high-profile creations like Lords of the Fallen and Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Of course, this is still merely speculation for the time being, so you’ll need to take this information with the customary grain of salt.

Naturally, we will also be providing updates on the latest trailers that are shown throughout the September PlayStation State of Play, so make sure to check back in once it goes live for the latest details. If you want to learn more about some upcoming games, though, make sure to check out our Lords of the Fallen preview, Lords of the Fallen interview with the developers, and Ghostrunner 2 preview as well.
