Kinetic Games has unveiled the Phasmophobia roadmap for 2024 and beyond, teasing what’s coming to the ghost-hunting multiplayer horror game this year.
In a new Steam post, Kinetic says it’s removed “any predicted dates for upcoming releases”, so if you’re hoping for some concrete timings – particularly for the long-awaited Phasmophobia console release – then you’re out of luck.
Three major updates are planned for the game prior to version 1.0, and they’ve got some pretty catchy names. The updates begin with version 0.9, which is coming next week.
Version 0.9 will bring a lighting overhaul, as well as new item tier adjustments and a new, improved shop experience.
Looking ahead to version 0.10, you can expect new tasks, changes to the rewards system, and new equipment, and version 0.11 will bring overhauled player models and animations.
Finally, the Phasmophobia 1.0 release will introduce new ghost models, a hallucination system, and “much more”, so you’ve got that to look forward to if you’re a Phasmophobia fan.
Kinetic has also included a “releasing separately as soon as they’re ready” section, which contains bigger and more long-term projects like the console release and the introduction of the new Point Hope location.
According to Kinetic, Point Hope is a lighthouse with a “widely different gameplay experience” to other locations. It’ll include “looping spots” and hiding spots that force players to make quick decisions while escaping from attackers.
Reworks are also on the way for the Bleasdale and Grafton farmhouse locations, which are “incredibly similar visually and in layout”, according to Kinetic.
These locations will both get layout adjustments, including a conversion of Grafton’s twin bedroom to a “large seamstress workshop” packed with creepy mannequins. Wonderful!
Bleasdale, meanwhile, will be moved more towards the “grand mansion” side of things, with huge rooms crammed with detail and objects from the owner’s long and storied life.
We’ll have to wait and see when these Phasmophobia updates land, but you can grab the game right now on PC via Steam Early Access if you want to check it out.
