The official Pan-European Game Information (PEGI) site seems to have leaked the release date for Dragon’s Dogma 2. After rating the game at 18 for violence and in-game purchases, the service gave a release date to go with it.

It’s clear that Capcom definitely did not want PEGI to let any release date go. The second this blows up, PEGI will hide the release date or say it’s just a placeholder. The release date was leaked as March 22, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The image is above and it states:

  • PlayStation 5 – 22/03/2024
  • Xbox Series X|S – 22/03/2024
  • PC – 22/03/2024

These are European dates, which put the day before the month, but it definitely translates to March 22, 2024. We will see what Capcom will say but it makes a lot of sense based on what we were hearing from the company.

This would mark the release at the end of Q1 2024, which many were expecting. This leaves Dragon’s Dogma 2 without much competition, and away from many other major release dates. This is the perfect time to release a game, due to these circumstances, as it has a big chance to increase the number of potential buyers.

Most studios like to release near the end of the year because it’s during the Christmas season and close to award ceremonies. We’ll see if there is any truth to it soon, however, because it could be a placeholder. It doesn’t seem like a default holder, but could be a time the studio told PEGI it would release around.

It could always be delayed by a few days or development could end earlier. The best thing to do is to wait patiently for Capcom to give a statement or for PEGI to remove it. If no one says anything, it will likely be the real release date.
