Palworld has been the biggest and most successful game of the year so far as upon early access it shot straight to the moon and was instantly played by millions. It’s only natural that there has been a cooling-off period as even the hottest foods become chilled after being out in the open. And a Palworld dev has responded to the evident player drop-off in the absolute best way.

Although it’s been a while since the last update was released for either Xbox or Steam, the developers have done a good job communicating with fans. These developers have reassured fans worried about the game dying due to extreme server costs, and they have also responded to the biggest in-game issue that needs updates to fix.

Not only are they responding to and reassuring players, but they are also conducting giveaways with fans still able to win $100 Steam gift cards. As mentioned, the communication and interaction with fans has been great from Pocketpair, and the game’s community manager has given an excellent response to the evident player drop-off since launch.

The Palworld community manager for Pocketpair, Bucky_cm on Twitter, has responded to the player drop-off. We recently reported that fans needn’t worry about the significant player drop-off on Steam and Xbox yet, and Pocketpair’s community manager has responded in the best possible way to the still huge but evidently smaller daily player count peak. Below is the message from Bucky_cm posted on Twitter:

‘In May of 2023, I was convinced that Palworld could break the 50,000 player mark. Anything above that seemed unobtainable though, and I certainly never expected it to reach into the millions. It has taken years to get to this point, and Palworld only really begins from here. Everyone is working hard to fix the issues and prepare new content and Pals.

‘Some of you may have had your fun over the last 3 weeks and found yourself putting the game down. That is fine. This emerging “Palworld has lost X% of its player base” discourse is lazy, but it’s probably also a good time to step in and reassure those of you capable of reading past a headline that it is fine to take breaks from games.

‘You don’t need to feel bad about that. Palworld, like many games before it, isn’t in a position to pump out massive amounts of new content on a weekly basis. New content will come, and it’s going to be awesome, but these things take a little bit of time.

‘If you are still playing Palworld, we love you. If you’re no longer playing Palworld, we still love you, and we hope you’ll come back for round 2 when you’re ready.’

This was the absolute best response possible. It’s wholesome that the developer is more than fine with players breaking away to experience all of the other amazing games out right now, and it’s also a good response reassuring players that more content is on the way.

Even though the player drop off is evident, the game is still a remarkable success and it currently sits third in the SteamDB charts of games with most concurrent players. The game’s future is also very bright as there’s the chance it could come to PS5 and there is a roadmap promising extra pals, bosses, islands, and more.

Palworld is available on Steam, Xbox, and Game Pass. Pocketpair has warned about downloading anything claiming to be related to the game on iOS and Android.
