Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch 2 will receive its ninth season, Champions, on February 13th. A trailer will premiere on February 7th, and based on the thumbnail, it seems the developer will outline changes coming to Competitive Play.

Season 9 marks several other changes to balance, including Tanks and Damage dealers receiving a toned-down version of the Supports’ passive. It thus allows for other heroes to regenerate health, albeit at a slower rate. While encouraging more individual-focused plays, the change should also take pressure off Supports.

How it will enable flankers like Genji and Tracer remains to be seen. Stay tuned for more details on Season 9’s content and changes.

Overwatch 2 is available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch, with reportedly more than 50 million users. It will receive a new PvP mode, Clash, this year, along with a rework of Hanamura called Hanaoka. Venture and Space Ranger are also joining the roster in Seasons 10 and 12.
