The Candyman star admitted that it was difficult for the show's writers to decide what to do with his character since he was the only black actor on the series.
“They didn't know what to do with my character, that's why I left,” he explained.
“There are no black writers on the show, so there's no real voice from anyone with Rhonda's experience.”

'Guys, you must remember the times we live in. These are truly underdeveloped times. The public did not wake up,” he added.
This comes after news that CBS Studios is currently developing a sequel to Melrose Place.
Heather Locklear (Amanda Woodward), Daphne Zuniga (Jo Reynolds) and Laura Leighton (Sydney Andrews) are expected to return.
The original Melrose Place cast appears in a 1992 commercial.
Rhonda is in the film with her co-star Doug Sawant, who plays Matt Fielding.
The sequel will take place several years after the original series, which ran for seven seasons on Fox from 1992 to 1999, from Insatiable creator Lauren Guzzi.
He continues to reunite many of the residents of Melrose Place when “one of their dearest friends suddenly dies.”
After everyone gathers to honor their friend, “the pressure cooker of a reunion soon reveals old traumas, rekindles old loves, rekindles old resentments, and reveals new secrets.”
The original characters will be involved in a chaotic drama that “remembers the past, but with a more modern perspective.”
It also seems like the series will basically be ignored since the 2009 reboot/sequel aired for only one season on The CW.
