Perfect World Games has announced the launch of One Punch Man World for the Southeast Asia region. Players from SEA can now download the game via Google Play, App Store Huawei AppGallery or the PC client.

It’s been awhile since I’ve played a new One Punch Man game thus I’m totally hyped for OPM: World (still waiting for S3 of the Anime).
Story
One Punch Man World is an open-world exploration, Action-RPG set in the One Punch Man anime world. The game’s plays like a spin-off to the original Anime plot. There is still a main storyline to follow however, you’ll be able to experience the day-to-day lives of each different Hero.
World
The game has this Persona-type vibe with a colorful modern city to explore, multiple NPCs to interact with, quirky side-quest and music. There are many things to do while exploring the city. Players can lookout for collectibles that are hidden in the city, chat up with NPCs to find out more about the world including boss weaknesses. You can also head to the Arcade and have some fun with the mini-games.
Similar to most RPGs, there are content in the game that are gated against your Team level. Do remember to revisit every zone as you level up. Alternatively, you can check the Team level page to see what new content has been unlocked.
Character Development
At launch, there are 19 characters that Players will be able to unlock. Each character has it’s own unique skills and playstyle. I strongly encourage new Players to do the gameplay tutorial for each character as there are some hidden mechanics that can maximize the damage potential of the character when played correctly.
When setting your party members, you’ll want to consider your character type against the Boss enemy. There are 4 types in the game; Morale (Red), Technique (Green), Overpower (Purple) and Assault (Blue). This works similar to the Elemental system in most other games.
Combat
Combat is pretty fast-paced with tons of flashy skills and effects happening on the battlefield. There is a lot of action going on thus it is really important to be familiar with your character’s skillset so that you can dodge fast and unleash your damage to the enemies.
The only issue I have for combat on the PC client is that you have to right click to turn your camera angle.
Gacha
As there are only 19 characters at launch, the Gacha banner is a mixture of Characters and Impression Arms (Skills). Currently, there are 7 SSR characters and 12 SR characters. For rerollers, there are 18 Summon Tickets and enough Gems for you to perform 20 summons at the start of the game. Good luck getting the character you want.
Summary
I’m only about 45 minutes into the game and am currently enjoying. There’s a lot of things to do in the game and it’s distracting me from proceeding the main quest. If you’re looking for a new game to main this 2024, you can definitely give One Punch Man World a try!
