Perfect World and publisher A Plus Japan, as well as Western publisher Crunchyroll Games, have revealed the One Punch Man: World release date.
The anime action game, which will allow you to play as characters like Saitama, Genos, and Mumen Rider, will launch for PC and mobile devices on January 31st.
Slightly confusingly, however, a press release points to February 1st as the release date, while the official live-action trailer that accompanies the release date reveal suggests January 30th as the date. Crossed wires, I suspect.
The game was originally revealed in July this year and will, according to Crunchyroll, recreate “the world of the globally popular anime series One Punch Man“.
Playable characters will seemingly include Saitama himself, as well as supporting cast members like Genos, Mumen Rider, and Silverfang.
You’ll be able to take part in “legendary anime battles” and view them from new perspectives, including those of the series’ villains, like Carnage Kabuto.
Combat will be “easy-to-learn” but “hard-to-master”, according to Perfect World, and will revolve around a ssytem of parries, combos, and ultimate skills.
As well as experiencing battles from the anime, you’ll also be able to explore its world and take part in minigames, and you’ll get the chance to shop at the supermarket alongside Saitama, in true absurd One Punch Man style.
The online portion of the game will also allow you to team up with other characters to take on tasks assigned to you by the Hero Association.
One Punch Man: World launches for PC, iOS, and Android devices on…well, that appears to be somewhat fluid: it’s either January 30th, January 31st, or February 1st, according to three different official sources.
Just be sure to keep an eye on your preferred storefront around that time and you’re bound to catch the game appearing.
