Eintracht Frankfurt currently sit second in the Bundesliga and are Bayern Munich's number one suitors. Egyptian striker Omar Marmouche played a major role in this.
At 25 years old, he's better than ever. Omar Marmouche has 28 points in 19 games in all competitions this season. In the Bundesliga, only Bayern Munich's €100m transfer Harry Kane (14 goals) has scored more goals than the Egyptian from Eintracht Frankfurt (13).
There have been many rumors about Mamouche moving to the Premier League this summer. Although Nottingham Forest made two offers but were rejected by Frankfurt, the center still remains in the 2022 Europa League winning team and he is currently performing well in all aspects.
Malmouche scored a total of seventeen goals last season, twelve of which came in the Bundesliga. Since scoring twice in a 4-0 win over Heidenheim last weekend, the Egyptian has already scored more goals in the league this season than last season – and that's after just 12 matchdays.
The top scorer's efficiency is particularly impressive: in the league, Mamouch's expected goals value is just 5.7 goals. That's just half of his total effective goals this season.
Bundesliga gets off to a rough start
However, the road from Mamouche to the breakthrough was not smooth. In the summer of 2017, when he was 18 years old, he moved to the Wolfsburg second team from the Egyptian Wadi Graa Football Club.
“With a little imagination, I could even imagine him making the leap to the pros.”
Pablo Thiam, former sporting director of Wolfsburg U23 team
Wolfsburg have caught the attention of Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs. He worked as a game analyst and discovered Marmoush at a U17 tournament. According to Sport Bild, Wolfsburg's then-chief scout Pierre Littbarski was informed of several corner kicks and he began to take a closer look at the Egyptian.
After in-depth analysis and a week's trial, the talent was signed and began his European career with Wolfsburg's U23 side. In the 2019/2020 season, Mamouch made his debut with the Bundesliga “Wolves” team. After one season, the Egyptian was loaned to second division team St. Pauli.
In 21 games, he scored seven goals and provided three assists for the Kickers. After returning to Wolfsburg, Malmouche was loaned out again, this time to Stuttgart. In Swabia, he only scored three goals all season.

In the last year of his contract with Wolfsburg, which is the 2022/2023 season, the Egypt international played 33 games in the league. In terms of scoring, he was also unconvincing this season, and the two parties subsequently agreed to part ways.
This will be followed by a move to Frankfurt in the summer of 2023. Mamouche immediately made headlines for the club in his first season with 23 points in all competitions.
Market value explosion
When Mamouche left Wolfsburg, his market value increased exponentially. According to Transfermarkt.ch, the market value in the summer of 2023 is 6 million euros. In the last market cap update in October, its value has now risen to 40 million.
Of course, top clubs are now more than taking notice and will be lining up in Frankfurt to sign the Egyptian.
Liverpool Football Club tops the popular list. According to multiple media reports, the current Premier League leaders are willing to pay up to 70 million euros. If a move to the Reds is completed, Mamouch could take over at Liverpool after his compatriot Mohamed Salah leaves the club after eight years.

However, change was not an issue for Marmoush until the summer. The forward told Motherland TV that his dream this season is to win the German championship with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Three direct free kicks in eight days
Of course, coach Marcus Crosher is currently raving about his Storm gem. «Omar has very good shooting skills. His goals are the result of training and the confidence needed in critical situations. “
In early November, the Bundesliga's top scorer also showed off his free kick skills. In three games in eight days, Mamouche scored a direct free-kick goal in each game. He is the second Bundesliga professional player to achieve such an achievement after Christian Fuchs (representing Bochum in 2010).
Frankfurt continues to soar
Omar Marmouche's side currently sit second in the Bundesliga. Only record champions Bayern Munich are currently ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt. Frankfurt is also on the right track in the Europa League and is expected to advance directly to the top 16.
Frankfurt has only lost one of the last 17 games. Frankfurt won 13 of these games. Omar Marmoush and company want to keep the series alive today. Adler takes on struggling RB Leipzig in the last 16 of the DFB-Pokal (8:45pm, ZDF).
